The course, delivered in January 2023, explored current practices, techniques and workflows in contemporary VFX (visual effects) production, with a particular emphasis on understanding the complexities of compositing & its relationship to motion graphics, VFX concept design and implementation.
Concentrating on a range of key VFX theories and concepts, blended with planning and production practices, the course aimed to outline the key roles and duties of the VFX coordinator.
With an emphasis on practices & theories of contemporary compositing & VFX, the course explored the relationship & inter connectivity of media elements needed to produce professional quality shots and sequences.

This introductory module, delivered in January 2021 and 2022, explored contemporary media workflows and practice in contemporary film and television with a particular emphasis on how these practices can be adapted and used for business and commerce.
With an emphasis on the wide and diverse aspects of contemporary media production, the module explored the relationship and inter connectivity of media elements.
Concentrating on production planning, content generation and editing, the module aimed to demonstrate how these elements are utilised to produce and attain specific goals and objectives within the context of story development.

The role supported & managed a series of creative editing project briefs, delivered through a cloud based storage system that holds a range of footage and material that are typically used in a media post production project.
The programme running from Sept 2022 to Sept 2023 recruited 20 experienced edit assistants and/or assistant editors currently working within 20 Post facilities across the UK. Either staff or freelancers, the course allows them to step up to the role of junior editor.
It offers participants industry-led online training into the complex and fast moving post production pipeline through the lens of the two roles. The training is delivered by working post production professionals & builds technical, creative, professional and personal skills. Participants will gain time within a UK-based Post facility for first-hand experience to build confidence to gain employment within this complex technical sector.
